—2 Timothy 4:7-8 (NASB)
One of the things we may be eventually faced with is the fact that Judaism as it is practiced today is a false religion. It can be called "Talmudic Judaism" to differentiate it from "Mosaic Judaism", the original Judaism of the Old Testament which is now impossible to practice without the temple, the priesthood, and the sacrifices. Talmudic Judaism, in the wake of the destruction of the temple in 70 A.D. substitutes the synagogue for the temple, rabbis for the priesthood, and good works for the sacrifices, none of which is actually biblical. The only "true" Judaism that exists today is Christianity, the New Covenant that is the natural extension of Mosaic Judaism.
The two divergent paths between Christianity and Talmudic Judaism came about primarily through two Jewish classmates attending what we might call Hillel's seminary during the time of Jesus: Rabbi Shaul of Tarshish, whom we call "Paul", and Rabbi Johannan ben-Zacchai whom the Jews esteem so highly that he is known as "The Mighty Hammer". Paul led the foray towards Christianity, ben-Zacchai led the establishment of Talmudic Judaism with the kinds of compromise outlined above.
Now on his deathbed, ben-Zacchai began to weep uncontrollably much to his disciples' consternation. It is recorded in Jewish records that when asked what the problem was, that he replied that he was about to die and did not know which option God had prepared for him: eternal life in heaven or eternal condemnation in hell. Despite his so-called great accomplishments to keep a form of Judaism alive in the wake of the destruction of everything that made Judaism possible to begin with, the Mighty Hammer had no personal assurance of his salvation. But what did his classmate say in the same situation?

There's quite a difference between the false Talmudic Judaism practiced today and the true Judaism of Christianity provided by Christ through Paul.†††
